Taking a Break from Social Media: A Journey to Mental Clarity

Chapter 1: The Decision to Disconnect
Hello [FIRST NAME GOES HERE],
Recently, I decided to take a short hiatus from social media for the weekend, only allowing myself to watch Tomorrowland live on TikTok. To my surprise, my confidence soared, and my mind felt significantly clearer during this time of rest and rejuvenation.
After removing Facebook and Instagram from my phone, I experienced such tranquility that I now plan to take the entire month of August off from these platforms. It’s astonishing how draining social media can be, and I’m eager to see how much energy I can cultivate during this month-long break.
They say that insanity is repeating the same actions while expecting different results. I had convinced myself that I couldn’t take a break, when in reality, all I needed was a shift in my surroundings and perspective. My communication style leans toward long-form, but I often feel constrained by self-imposed limitations. It’s time to grant myself the freedom to unleash my full creativity and strength.
While social media has its perks—like experiencing Tomorrowland remotely this past weekend—there are also significant downsides. During my time away from Facebook and Instagram, I plan to focus on creativity instead of mindlessly scrolling through feeds.
This first video guides you through the steps to delete or deactivate your Instagram or Facebook account in 2024, helping you to take control of your mental space.
I’ll be documenting my journey and the creative projects I undertake on a private Telegram channel, which you can join here. Additionally, I’m launching a podcast titled "Creative Wellbeing and Fitness for Neurospicy Entrepreneurs" with Amanda Jayne Thrives—stay tuned for the first episode. I'll also share videos on YouTube and TikTok, along with blog posts that may find a home on Substack.
I’m eager to explore whether I can thrive without social media (excluding TikTok, which I don’t find addictive). I often tell a friend who doesn’t use social media that I wish I could be free from it too. Perhaps now is the time to discover if that freedom is achievable.
Who's ready to join me on this journey?
