Crafting Stories for Your Closest Circle: A Unique Approach
Written on
Chapter 1: The Power of Personalization
Imagine writing a narrative specifically tailored for your best friend. By centering our stories around one individual, we can select any style and format that resonates with them.
Recently, I was on the lookout for fresh techniques to enhance my storytelling skills. Having been active on Medium for some time, I feel a growing sense of confidence in my writing. However, I want my prose to flow effortlessly, allowing readers to immerse themselves in the narrative like indulging in a delicious cake.
To elevate my writing, I delved into various resources—books, articles, and videos—seeking insights from accomplished authors on how to engage readers deeply and create compelling narratives. One standout article by Alex Mathers caught my attention; he emphasized the importance of conveying genuine emotions to forge a stronger bond with readers. I even noted the range of emotions he highlighted: anger, joy, peace, sadness, and passion.
This led me to a novel idea while brainstorming ways to enhance my writing. What if I envisioned each piece as a gift to a specific person? For instance, consider your mother, father, or closest friend as you craft a story. Imagine the narrative you would want to share with them—perhaps a lesson learned or a cherished moment from your life. Picture that this story is meant exclusively for their eyes.
I found this concept incredibly inspiring. What if I dedicated a week to writing for the seven most influential individuals in my life? Each day could focus on crafting a tailored article just for them. This approach not only excites me but also allows me to explore my writing style in a more relaxed manner.
For example, if I wanted to offer guidance to my younger brother on conversing with girls, I could write a piece that covers essential topics like respect and genuine interest. I would incorporate references to books by Dale Carnegie and relevant YouTube videos. This article could serve as a valuable resource, addressing one person's dilemma while resonating with others facing similar challenges.
This notion has transformed my perspective on the writing process. Although I have yet to start, I plan to schedule dedicated writing sessions for each individual I wish to focus on.
If this idea resonates with you or if you have any thoughts to share, I would love to hear your feedback!
