Inside the box, you’ll find the wireless keyboard available in your preferred color, a USB-C to USB-C charging cable, and a multi-lingual user manual. Since this keyboard primarily uses Bluetooth for connectivity, you won’t find a small USB receiver included. However, rest assured that all MacBooks and iMacs are equipped with Bluetooth technology. If you do need to use a receiver, the Logi Bolt USB model is compatible. Additionally, you can download the necessary Logitech Options software online, but we recommend opting for the Logitech Option+ software for more features.

If you’re familiar with Apple keyboards, you’ll notice that the MX Keys Mini shares a similar aesthetic. The design diverges at the top, where a unique battery configuration creates some unutilized space. Here, you’ll find the Logitech logo and a small LED indicator that displays the accessory's status, such as low battery or pairing mode.

While exact battery specifications are not disclosed, it is reported that the keyboard can last up to five months with the backlight off (or 10 days with it on), which is quite impressive. As mentioned earlier, this model does not include a number pad and is optimized for comfortable typing on the go. The key layout is standard and adequately spacious, with a tactile two-line Enter key (as seen in our US version).

Given its office-oriented design, users will appreciate the soft, quiet keystrokes, along with the specially designed keys, referred to as Perfect Stroke, which ensure that each keystroke feels smooth, natural, and accurate.

The top row of keys features additional functionalities, providing quick access to dictation (speech-to-text), emoticons, and microphone muting for seamless video calls. The MX Keys Mini can connect with up to three Bluetooth-enabled devices, allowing users to switch between them effortlessly at the touch of a button, which is a significant advantage.

In addition to pairing with a MacBook, you can connect it to an iPad and an iPhone simultaneously. Despite its smaller size, the keyboard feels solid, weighing over 500 grams, and is crafted from high-quality materials, including 12% certified recycled plastic.

Professional users also appreciate the MX Keys Mini for its robust build and exceptional ergonomics. The scissor-switch keys provide stability with minimal noise, ensuring that your typing won’t disturb those around you. The underside is fitted with five rubber pads to keep the keyboard securely in place on your desk, preventing any unwanted movement. Although it features a flat design with no tilt adjustments, its low profile minimizes the need for a wrist rest.

The MX Keys Mini is equipped with a white backlight, with each key individually illuminated. Brightness levels can be adjusted using dedicated F5 and F6 keys. A built-in sensor activates the backlight in low light and deactivates it when typing ceases for a period. However, due to its compact design, it does lack some of the function keys found on its larger counterpart, such as display brightness controls and application launching shortcuts.

All configurations are managed through the Logitech Options software, which allows for some customization, including multiple profiles and specific application settings. Certain F-row keys can also be remapped, although options are limited to a set list of functions.

In summary, the Logitech MX Keys Mini offers an excellent typing experience. Each key features a rounded indentation to help users press accurately and reduce typing errors. Even though it’s a compact version of the keyboard, the keys are well-spaced and don’t feel congested.

We appreciate its small footprint, customizable keys, and superior typing comfort. The bright white backlight, paired with an intelligent auto-off feature, is a plus for energy conservation. The only potential downside could be its price, but it’s certainly a worthwhile investment if you’re seeking a reliable and functional alternative to the Magic Keyboard.
