The Ego Within: Understanding the 30/70 Rule in Life

Chapter 1: The Journey Begins
"Mom, I just won a medal in the 100-meter dash!" Charlie exclaimed, presenting his achievement to his mother.
"Son, it seems the Genie must have assisted you with your speed," she chuckled, a twinkle in her eye.
Charlie felt a pang of frustration, believing his mother was undermining his dedication.
On another occasion, Charlie rushed home from school, bursting with excitement. He approached his mother, who was busy cooking dinner, and handed her his score report. "Look! I aced all my classes!" he said, practically jumping with joy.
His mother beamed, replying, "The Genie must have been particularly generous with your grades!"
Confused and disheartened, Charlie frowned, "Why do you dismiss my efforts? I put in so much hard work to achieve this!"
His mother simply smiled gently, choosing to remain silent.
As the years went by, Charlie completed his college education and prepared to step into the professional world. One day, he returned home visibly upset.
"Mom, I didn’t get the job I wanted; they turned me down," he lamented.
"I thought I did well in the interview. They even smiled and shook my hand at the end! My resume is impressive, so I just don’t get it," he vented his frustrations.
"It must be the Genie’s doing; it let you down this time," his mother replied softly.
Charlie was left puzzled.
The Universe doesn’t always operate as we expect it to. Our egos often trick us into believing we are in complete control. In reality, we are part of a vast and mysterious cosmos, often hiding our egos beneath layers of skin.
Everything in existence is interconnected through energy. Our thoughts, actions, and feelings resonate with the world around us. We cannot solely concentrate on ourselves while disregarding the spiritual aspect of life.
The outcomes we experience are influenced by a blend of our contributions and universal forces: 30% from our efforts and 70% from the Universe.
When we succeed, we play our part by contributing 30% to the results and express gratitude to the Universe for its 70%. Conversely, when we fail, our 30% effort remains, but the Universe does not provide its 70%.
By adopting this perspective, we can alleviate stress and embrace a more relaxed attitude. We learn to focus on our best efforts, understanding that we are part of something greater.
